My Power Rankings In Review

I was looking back at my power rankings from just two weeks ago and my my were there some interesting calls on my part.  Here's what I came up with upon further review:

THINGS I WAS RIGHT ABOUT

1.  The Miami Dolphins are tanking for Andrew Luck.  Any time you're turning to Matt Moore, you're proclaiming to the world:  We are not trying to win.  We want the #1 pick in the draft.  Come and catch us if you can.

2.  Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears.  Here's what I wrote about Jay Cutler's inner monologue:  "Please don't hit me, please don't hit me, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap . . ."  Did you watch the Monday Night Football game against Detroit?  I'm pretty sure I have that one pegged.  If there's anybody earning his paycheck this year, it's Jay Cutler.  I would not trade places with that guy no matter what his contract looks like.

3.  The New York Jets could easily be 2-3 in two weeks.  Well, not that it was too tough to call, but at least I got it.  I'm preparing myself because I just saw how gawdawful some of my commentary is.

4.  New England, New Orleans, and Green Bay.  I didn't reinvent the wheel here, although I'm still liking my New Orleans pick.

5.  Denver Broncos.  Here's all I had to say about them and I'm still there:  "Tebow!  Tebow!  Tebow!"

THINGS I WAS WOEFULLY WRONG ABOUT

1.  "This may sound crazy, but I really like the Rams at +350 to win the NFC West."  Well, it sounded crazy for a reason.  They don't need Luck, but they sure will be able to trade that #1 pick for some nice pieces around Bradford.

2.  San Francisco 49ers . . . "Can we start the Colin Kaepernik countdown yet?"  No, no we can't.  The 49ers under Jim Harbaugh' s magical spell are making a case for sleeper of the year despite what Detroit's doing for a city that more than needed something to care about.  The 49ers are great on defense.  Alex Smith is doing a 180.  Heck, they just beat Tampa Bay 48-3.

3.  Speaking of Tampa Bay, they're not fun to watch when they're down by six TD's in the fourth quarter.  I missed the boat on that one.  Glad I didn't officially make them a long shot pick.

4.  "The Giants are sneaky good."  No, no they're not.  Eli Manning is still sneaky bad and I somehow forgot about this.  Losing to Tarvaris Jackson at home reminded me.

5.  Detroit Lions . . . "I don't think this is quite their year yet."  I may have been wrong about that one.  I don't think they win the Super Bowl this year but, um guys, is there still room for me to jump on this bandwagon?  It just looks like so much fun.  And I LOVE saying Ndamukong and Megatron.  They just flow off the tongue.

I am sure I was right and wrong about some more picks, but on a Saturday morning, that's all you're getting.  Sorry.  I'll have my former Tiger Woods A-game back next week.
