NFL Power Rankings - Week 10

Football in the middle of the week!  And they rejoiced like they had been given the gift of life once more.  Okay, I made up a fake Bible passage, but you get it.  In other news, you lose when you gamble.  I'm having a stellar year thus far given my standards.  I'm 14 games over .500.  I figured I would be running with at least a 65% clip, but being a math nerd I did the calculation.  55%!  I'm barely covering Vegas' take.  So if you're 14 games over .500 right now you're breaking even.  So in case you're scoring at home, Vegas always wins (don't forget about the parlay take).

Teams I Refuse to Rank

Cleveland Browns (1-7)
Detroit Lions (1-8)
Kansas City Chiefs (1-8)
Oakland Raiders (2-6)
St. Louis Rams (1-7)
Washington Redskins (2-7)

26.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-7)

They sneak out of the above list just in case Josh Freeman is a baller.  They could go right back in after this week.

25.  Seattle Seahawks (3-6)

Yes, you drop in the rankings if your game is still in doubt in the fourth quarter at home against the Lions.

24.  Tennessee Titans (2-6)

If they can hold serve this week, they'll have quietly gone 3-0 after their bye week (and VY).

23.  Buffalo Bills (3-5)

They're not good, and Michael Vick is not the answer.

22.  San Francisco 49ers (3-5)

Michael Crabtree is not the problem.  The defense all of a sudden going AWOL should have some more explaining to do.

21.  Chicago Bears (4-4)

If they were playing in Seahawks jerseys, talking heads wouldn't even talking about them.  The defense is hurt and it still remains the more consistent of the two squads.

20.  Jacksonville Jaguars (4-4)

It's impressive that they have it to 4-4, but eking one out at home against KC is not a great feat.  Although nobody goes to their games in Jacksonville so maybe they aren't really home games.

19.  Carolina Panthers (3-5)

They are far better than their 3-5 record.  The running game is looking stellar and Jake isn't making killer mistakes.  I like them to make a run.

18.  New York Jets (4-4)

Hopefully that week off did the Sanchize some good.

17.  Miami Dolphins (3-5)

I still like this Miami team.  I don't think they're playoff bound but they come ready made with a spoiler alert.

16.  New York Giants (5-4)

Where are all of the Giants fans who get on me for criticizing Eli and the secondary?  I can't hear you.  Anybody home?

15.  Green Bay Packers (4-4)

There's losing and then there's losing to the Bucs.  The Pack all of a sudden faces a must win against the Cowboys.  Too bad the offensive line is filled with my alma mater's JV players.

14.  Arizona Cardinals (5-3)

An impressive road run, but don't get too excited over that performance against the Bears.  I think the Bears just happen to be horrible.

13.  Baltimore Ravens (4-4)

They don't have any bad losses, but they better start racking up some wins soon.  Cleveland is the perfect cure for that.

12.  San Diego Chargers (5-3)

Great win for the Chargers.  Impressive comeback for Rivers.  And they play in the AFC West.  Can you say 11-5?

11.  Atlanta Falcons (5-3)

I love them at home but again, not so much on the road.  Big test this week in Carolina.  Matt Ryan will have to be far better than he's been in recent weeks.  Michael Turner's re-emergence is promising though.

10.  Houston Texans (5-4)

They're a game over .500 and were a field goal away from possible ruining the Colts' run.  The bye week should serve them well.

9.  Philadelphia Eagles (5-3)

They're just too inconsistent.  Brian Westbrook's absence may have something to do with that.

8.  Denver Broncos (6-2)

They could unravel but it's not like they lost to bad teams.  If they lose in Washington I'll have to re-word that last sentence.

7.  Dallas Cowboys (6-2)

For all of the "problems" they have, they sure do win a lot of games.

6.  Cincinnati Bengals (6-2)

Ochocinco's 12-4 prediction is halfway home.

5.  Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)

Things are good when your Super Bowl hangover leads to a 6-2 record.

4.  Minnesota Vikings (7-1)

T-minus 4 weeks until the Favre breakdown.  Until then things are happy in paradise.

3.  New England Patriots (6-2)

Brady's faltering start is ancient history for a rolling Pats squad.

2.  Indianapolis Colts (8-0)

Too many injuries for the Colts lead the RW staff to drop the Colts from the #1 spot.  This week's game against the Pats should show us where they are on the totem pole.

1.  New Orleans Saints (8-0)

When you can go down 14-0 and still be favored to win the game on the in-running line, you're a good team.  Again, can anyone outscore this team?  What's the o/u when they play New England?  80?
