NFL Power Rankings - Week 6

I actually felt like I had a good week last week.  I may not have eclipsed the .500 mediocrity line by much, but in every blowout I had the right side, whereas I lost the close ones.  I feel like that's not my fault.  So we're chalking last week up as a moral victory.

32.  St. Louis Rams (0-5)

The Rams don't even have moral victories.  The perfect reason for the relegation system in the NFL.  Now all we need is a minor league system to send the Rams to.

31.  Oakland Raiders (1-4)

On the bright side, our coach hasn't been arrested yet.  Part of me roots for a bunch of losses and a high draft pick, but it's fruitless with Al Davis still doing the picking.

30.  Detroit Lions (1-4)

At least they got that win out of the way early.

29.  Kansas City Chiefs (0-5)

Bad teams always find ways to lose games they should win late.  The Chiefs aren't even good enough to be called a bad team.

28.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-5)

An easy choice to round out the Bottom-5 teams in the league.  This doesn't say much for teams 29-32 that the Bucs are ranked here.

27.  Buffalo Bills (1-4)

Your offense is really bad when you can't win a home game in which the other team's QB goes 2-17 with 23 yards and a pick.

26.  Cleveland Browns (1-4)

As long as the Baby Browns I'm coaching keep winning with defense, I'll continue to have faith in the Browns Defense (as long as they're playing teams like Buffalo that is).

25.  Washington Redskins (2-3)

Washington's wins shouldn't count.  Can we have them overturned?  Are they reviewable?

24.  Tennessee Titans (0-5)

Is Vince Young still on the team?  What are they waiting for?  Things can't get any worse.

23.  Carolina Panthers (1-3)

You'd be wise not to get too excited about come from behind wins at home against the Redskins.

22.  Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3)

If you lose 41-0, does that technically count as showing up or does your flight get erased from the tower chief's log Colonel Jessop style?

21.  Houston Texans (2-3)

I don't know how to quit them.  So good on paper.  So bad in the 4th quarter.

20.  Miami Dolphins (2-3)

Is this the same Chad Henne that tortured all of my friends that went to Michigan during his tenure?  He actually looked pretty good.  If he can perform then the Wildcat becomes a nice change-up once more.

19.  Seattle Seahawks (2-3)

I'm telling you.  Take the Seahawks for a few weeks and you'll be glad you did.  Vegas will adjust accordingly soon after though.

18.  Dallas Cowboys (3-2)

Yes, if your team is that happy after an overtime victory in Kansas City then you get dropped after a win.

17.  Arizona Cardinals (2-2)

The epitome of mediocrity.  They're solid and not going to get smoked by too many teams, but they're inconsistent enough to make you sweat out a lot of games.

16.  San Francisco 49ers (3-2)

I did take the Falcons but I did not see that coming.  Mike Singletary needs to start making better use of that stop clock.

15.  Green Bay Packers (2-2)

They get a second consecutive bye week with Detroit coming to Lambeau Field.  Speaking of frozen tundra, why is it 90 degrees outside right now with Halloween right around the corner?

14.  San Diego Chargers (2-2)

We'll see if the Chargers can live up to the billing when they battle Denver at home this week.  I'm not sure they're up to the task.

13.  Chicago Bears (3-1)

I'm far from sold on this Bears team.  We'll learn a lot by how they play in Falcon territory.

12.  Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2)

How do you not beat Detroit by double digits if you're supposed to be a contender?  Especially when Calvin Johnson gets hurt.  Polamalu can't come back soon enough.

11.  Baltimore Ravens (3-2)

I can't remember the last time the Ravens gave up that much yardage that quickly in crunch time.  This is not the same Ravens defense that we are used to seeing.

10.  Cincinnati Bengals (4-1)

I guess they're for real, even without Carson Palmer really playing all that well.  The defense has answered the call.

9.  New York Jets (3-2)

I think Miami just played an amazing game to come away with the win.  I still like this Jets team down the road.

8.  New England Patriots (3-2)

Who is that in Tom Brady's jersey missing all of those open receivers?

7.  Atlanta Falcons (3-1)

Last week:  Statement.  Game.

6.  Philadelphia Eagles (3-1)

What's the point of even having them play the Raiders?  Isn't this just an injury risk for everyone involved?  We already know the outcome, I see no point in playing the game.

5.  Denver Broncos (5-0)

I couldn't tell if Josh McDaniels was excited last week.  Was he?  I'm not sure, we'll have to watch his reaction again.

4.  Minnesota Vikings (5-0)

They have a chance to climb up some Power Rankings ladders this weekend.

3.  New Orleans Saints (4-0)

Their offense is most definitely prolific but it's the defense that has them 5-0.  Their offense was good last year too don't forget.

2.  New York Giants (5-0)

Again, when you have a stellar defense and offensive line, good things tend to happen.

1.  Indianapolis Colts (5-0)

The best team in the league that gets no press.  With all of these primetime performances, people have to take notice at some point, don't they.
